The ownership and management of Real Estate is a highly regulated segment of the free enterprise system of the United States. As such, the members of Northeast Real Estate Investors Association (Northeast REIA) must treat this enterprise with the utmost professionalism.

Northeast REIA membership means that each member is part of an organization of people intent on expanding their knowledge of real estate investing and management.

We, the members of Northeast REIA:

  • Provide safe and sanitary housing
  • Provide affordable housing opportunities
  • Develop and re-develop housing units which make neighborhoods and communities more attractive and desirable
  • Are visible as active investment professionals

In order to pursue these ends in a legal and ethical manner, all “members of Northeast REIA” will be held to a high standard of ethical behavior, which includes but is not limited to the following enumerated list of behaviors:

I, as a Northeast REIA member:

  1. Shall comply with all applicable laws or regulations of federal, state, and other government bodies for the health, safety, and progress of the community.
  2. Shall not intentionally misrepresent any material or exaggerate, misrepresent, or conceal any pertinent facts relating to the property or the transaction; and not cheat, take unfair advantage of, or defraud any other member, owner, or resident in the Northeast REIA member’s business dealings and/or advertising.
  3. Shall ensure, whenever possible, that all agreements are written clearly and in easy-to-understand language that expresses the specific terms, conditions, obligations, and commitments of the parties.
  4. Shall explain all transactional terms to homeowners in plain language, fully disclose all products and/or services, and ensure they fully understand same.
  5. Shall act as a positive role model as a professional real estate investor and set the standards for other real estate investors.
  6. Shall continue my education in order to stay up to date regarding changes and new business methods within the industry and shall provide assistance to fellow Northeast REIA members whenever prudent and appropriate.
  7. Shall not perform or cause to be performed any act which would tend to negatively reflect upon or bring into disrepute Northeast REIA.
  8. Will build goodwill and trust among Northeast REIA members, their referrals, and the community.
  9. Shall keep confidential any personal information made known to the investor.
  10. Shall live up to the ethical standards of my profession.
  11. Shall conduct all due diligence to protect myself and other parties I am conducting business with.
